   spontaneous sparks on wednesday afternoon

Harmonica virtuoso Steven De Bruyn (El Fish, The Rythm Junks) and guitar legend Roland Van Campenhout are soul mates. They top the bill on Wednesday afternoon and - as Citadelic loves -they throw improv drummer phenomenon Karen Willems in the fold.

Steven De bruyn is identified with the harmonica in Belgium, especially now that Toots is no longer there. He is completely open-minded, free of rules and loves to improvise, referring to his previous concerts at Citadelic with Rodrigo Fuentealba and Sanne van 't Hek or his usical encounters with American guitar player Eugène Chadbourne.

Roland is an example for many, the godfather of many such as Pieter Jan De Smet, Steven De Bruyn, but also the ideal sidekick of many, such as Jean Blaute, Wannes Van De Velde or Arno (Charles & Les lulus). Roland is well versed in blues, as well as reggae, country, jazz, world music and folk. He is musically extremely curious what makes him a great partner. Remember his concert at Citadelic with Han Bennink.

Kicking Karen Willems is a quirky drummer. As a child she played drums in the marching band, follows lessons at the academy and at a later date she finds her calling as a professional. For starters she plays drums for very diverse line-ups, including Mauro, Jan Swerts, Zita Swoon Group, Eric Thielemans and Novastar, and takes her time to delve into a personal musical realm, and of course she's not shy for a musical challenge (Fred Frith, Chris Corsano, .. .).

So it can go either way... let the intuition flow... and that will undoubtedly result in a wonderfull instrumental trip. Pure interplay will stand strong, be sure of that.
