---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maayan Smith is an up and coming Israeli saxophonist based in Brussels. He recently won the prestigious Toots Thielemans Jazz Award and is involved in numerous projects playing throughout Belgium. The most recent band, "Sinister Sister", an explosive group playing the music of Frank Zappa featuring Belgian Jazz icon Michel Hatzigorgeorgiou is currently touring as well.

Nadav Peled is a young promising Israeli Guitarist, steadily making a name for himself in the New York Jazz scene. He regularly preforms at NY clubs and venues with some of the best musicians in town and has also played in Israel with the likes of Yuval Cohen (3 Cohens) and Erez Bar-Noy. Besides his deep love of Jazz music, Nadav is always expanding his horizons, versing himself in other musical styles including Reggae, Funk and Ethiopian music. One of his most intriguing current projects in NYC is the band "Lions", focusing on instrumental Ethionpian music, and new compositions based on the ancient scales and systems of the Ethiopian tradition with a modern Jazz twist.

The material consists of orginal compositions by Nadav and Maayan Smith and some challenging, original arrangements of standards.

With Marco Bardoscia (Raffaele Cassarano, Ragini Trio) on double bass and Toni Vitacolonna (Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Delvita Group) on drums.

"Nadav Peled is one if the very finest young guitarists playing jazz I have heard in a long time. He has it all: sound, concept, expressiveness, technical mastery and great ears. He has a great foundation in the history of jazz and the tools needed to go forward. He is poised to make a great contribution to jazz guitar and to jazz music!" Peter Bernstein
