MAY 28 - 12H
Seppe Gebruers / Paul Lytton
only 1 piano, but with some magic drum
Paul Lytton has been on the forefront of improvised music since the late sixties together with Evan Parker, Derek Bailey, Barry Guy, Paul Lovens, …. He is an English free jazz and free improvising percussionist. His unique and constantly evolving musical language makes him one of the inspiring musicians of this time.
Seppe Gebruers is a Belgian pianist, improviser and composer from a younger generation.
The improv music scene is already acquainted with his name, due to his delivered work in several adventurous projects like the large ensemble 'Ifa y xango', the piano duo with Erik Vermeulen, named 'Antiduo, Bambi Pang Pang featuring the legendary Andrew Cyrille, his Solo and the trio with the pioneer Paul Lovens and Hugo Antunes (Seppe, Hugo and Paul).
He runs the Troika collective with an approach far from traditional, also musically, He is preparing his first solo recording to come out beginning of next year, playing two pianos tuned in quarter-tones.
In this way he can explore microtonal music and confront the tuning in western world music orthodoxy.
