Peter Brötzmann is al meer dan 40 jaar een voorbeeld van Europese geïmproviseerde muziek en nam deel aan talloze internationale samenwerkingen. Als oprichter van de Europese Free Jazz-beweging is hij weliswaar nog steeds een van de meest invloedrijke figuren van de nieuwe muziek.
