Deze neo-fanfare met negen topmusici uit het West-Afrikaanse Benin én Brussel mixt traditionele West-Afrikaanse grooves en melodieën met hedendaagse westerse arrangementen. Benin wordt het thuisland van vele ritmes genoemd.
Deze traditionele ritmes vinden hun oorsprong in de voodoo, waarbij de Béninois hun voorouders eren. Met bassdrum en kleine trom getuigen ze met deze opzwepende muziek van hun ongebreidelde levensvreugde. De sax, tuba en vier trompetten voegen een jazzy en melodieuze toets aan het geheel toe. Samen met hun wonderlijke en kleurrijke liveprésence is AGO! Benin Brass een spektakel die oren en ogen verwent en een lach op je gezicht tovert.

This neo fanfare with nine top musicians from West African Benin and the city of Brussels mixes traditional West African grooves and melodies with contemporary Western arrangements. Benin has been often called the homeland of many rhythms.
These traditional rhythms originate in the voodoo, where the Béninois honor their ancestors. With bass drum and small drum, they testify with their exhilarating music of their unbridled joy of living. The sax, tuba and four trumpets add a jazzy and melodic touch to the whole. Together with their wonderful and colorful live presence, AGO! Benin Brass is more than a spectacle that spoils ears and eyes and puts a smile on your face.
