LAS, een fris nieuw trio met muzikale kapstokken van Lode Vercampt, polyfonische sokken, metal onderbroeken, flashy free impro marcellekes ect., naadloos aan elkaar gelast.
Lode Vercampt is een klassiek geschoolde cellist die op negenjarige leeftijd al laureaat was van de wedstrijd Jeunes Talent, zijn graad Meester in de Muziek haalde aan het Gentse Conservatorium en bij Il Novecento, I Fiamminghi en prima La Musica schitterde.
Maar hij deelt ook het podium met Wim Mertens of vroeger met Gorki, Jo Lemaire, Johan Verminnen en Dirk Blanchard en staat regelmatig in muziektheaterproducties van Kris Defoort. Zijn meesterlijke techniek weerhoudt hem niet (integendeel zelfs) avontuurlijke paden op te zoeken op zijn cello. Nu brengt hij met Steven Delannoye en Artan Buleshkaj op zijn minst interessante muzikale kompanen mee.
Saxofonist Steven Delannoye is één van de vaandeldragers van de jonge Belgische jazz. Steven is bandleader en saxofonist van recente bands als Salon d'Harmonie & Brandhaard (zie programma festival woensdag 29 mei) en deelt ook geregeld het podium met jazzmuzikanten waaronder Peter Hertmans, Bruno Castellucci, Sal La Rocca, Frank Vaganée, Dré Pallemaerts, Philip Aerts en Ron Van Rossum. Delannoye trok enige jaren terug naar NY, voor één jaar studeren aan de Manhattan School of Music in New York met de prestigieuze Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.) beurs op zak. Hij ontmoette er bassist Desmond White en drummer Jesse Simpson. Het klikte tussen hen en het New York Trio was geboren. Onderwijl is zijn muzikale presence enkel maar versterktop de Belgische podia en daarbuiten.
De jonge gitarist Artan Buleshkaj is zeker geen onbekende in de bruisende Gentse Jazzscene. Hij is zeer opmerkelijk aanwezig in de nieuwe jazz formaties als Brain//Child en HAST.

Lode Vercampt is a classically trained cellist who was at the age of nine already a laureate of the Jeunes Talent competitio. He got his Master of Music degree at the Ghent Conservatory and sparkled at Il Novecento, I Fiamminghi and Prima La Musica. But he also shares the stage with Wim Mertens or in recent years with Gorki, Jo Lemaire, Johan Verminnen and Dirk Blanchard and is regularly found in music theater productions, particularly by Kris Defoort. His masterful technique does not prevent him (on the contrary even) from looking for adventurous paths on his instrument. Now he brings along with Steven Delannoye and Artan Buleshkaj at least some very interesting musical companions.
After his musical studies in Belgium and performing with European leading artists and ensembles such as Eric Vloeimans, Stéphane Belmondo, Jakob Bro, Bert Joris, Toots Thielemans and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, saxophonist Steven Delannoye was selected to attend the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York. At MSM he worked intensively with pianist Phil Markowitz who shared his experiences of playing together with the great Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano and Dave Liebman of the saxophone summit.
All around Steven is known for his modern sound and energetic, yet sophisticated interplay.
