Een wonderbare reis met 3 gezellen Paul, Chris en Patrick. Tegendraads, scherp aan de wind zeilen ze naar de zon. Duizend klankflarden vullen de hemel met nieuwe geluiden, tekens en eeuwige gebaren.
Het free jazz parcours van Paul Van Gysegem start vroeg in de jaren '60. Hij is een protagonist. Patrick De Groote vervoegt zijn groep als eerste free jazz trompettist in België juist 50 jaar geleden. Doorheen een traject van musiceren en organiseren van jazz concerten en festivals beleven ze een avontuur van vroege free jazz tot hedendaagse vrije improvisatie, bestand tegen de tand des tijds, ……
Percussionist en pianist Chris Joris behoort tot de top-percussionisten in ons land. Hij vormt de "perfect match" met de twee veteranen voor dit CD-project waarin in vier trio-stukken en vijf duo's voortdurend de grenzen worden afgetast.
Door de sobere opstelling en hedendaagse horizontale manier van vertellen brengt de combinatie van fijnzinnige contrabas en rauwe trompet samen met de wisselende klankkleur van de percussie of piano levende "gesprekken" in dit trio. Ze getuigen van een continue alertheid met spanning en ontspanning, gevarieerde schakeringen van gemoed, bewegingen, tijd en ruimte, taal en animo. De luisteraar bladert door een plastisch schetsboek van klanktekeningen."

Percussionist and pianist Chris Joris belongs among the top-percussionists in our country. He is the "perfect match" with the two veterans for this CD project in which they in four trio-pieces and five duos continuously scan the bounds.
Through a sober line-up and contemporary horizontal way of communicating, the combination of a subtle double bass and raw trumpet along with the rich timbre of the percussion or piano, brings captivating "conversations" in this trio. They bear witness to a continuous alertness with tension and relief, varied shades of emotions, moves, time and space, language and soul. The listener browses through a plastic sketchbook of sound drawings. "
