Krommekeer, een kleine veldweg in Meerbeke, Waar Bart opgroeide en terugkeerde met Lode om ditduo leven in te blazen. Ze spelen nummers die Bart door de jaren heen bij elkaar sprokkelde, residu van de meest verscheidene projecten. Krommekeer is ook een mooie metafoor voor deze muziek: restanten van een hobbelig parcours van verschillende probeersels en projecten waarvoor continu nieuwe nummers werden geschreven.

De duo formule is de meest tactiele, met meest open structuur, daar houdt Bart wel van. Nummers worden gedissecteerd tot op het skelet, enkel het meest typerende blijft over: een melodie, een ritmisch patroon, een emotie, deze zijn leiddraad voor interactie tussen trompet en cello, een combinatie die niet zo voor de hand ligt, maar een onuitputtelijke rijkdom aan klankkleur en geluidstextuur genereert die zo anders is door het 'fluistervolume' waarmee dit tot stand komt. Bart vertelt: "Ik kan spreken, zuchten, prevelen in m'n instrument: het kleinste geluid (zelfs de mechanische 'tiks' van m'n pistons..vooral de middelste) wordt wezenlijk deel van de muziek. Ik ben zowiezo geen bravour eblazer, maar een trompettist van krakende noten, zuchtende, ploffend aanzetten, fluisterende Klanken, ik heb ze allemaal geintegreerd in m'n verhaal."

Cello is een perfect tegengewicht; Lode beheerst de Kleinste nuances op zijn instrument als geen ander en ondrlijnt zo mee het verhaal van de trompet. Een dialoog over kleine eenvoudige dingen des levens.

Krommekeer, a small field road in Meerbeke, where Bart grew up and returned with Lode to give this duo a birth.
