Jazz, hedendaags en klassiek behoren tot de vele genres die de band gebruikt om hun verhalende en filmische klank te vormen. Spoken presenteert een modern en opwindend repertoire, met een interessante mix van de vele prachtige klanken van de saxofoon. Ze voeren dit uit in een persoonlijke en originele stijl, met waardering voor de rijke jazzgeschiedenis, licht bekroond met een gezonde dosis humor.

Tegenwoordig wordt Spoken uitgedaagd door drummer / percussionist / componist extraordinaire Friso van Wijck. Met zijn frisse percussiespel en ruimdenkende houding slaagt hij er altijd in het geluid van de vier saxofoons aan te vullen.

Op 8 december won SPOKEN + 2 de finale van de Keep an Eye– The Records wedstrijd in het Bimhuis.

Jazz, contemporary and classical are among the many genres the band uses to sculpture their narrative and filmic sound. Spoken presents a modern and exciting repertoire, with an interesting mixture of the many beautiful sounds of the saxophone. They execute this in a personal and original style, with appreciation of the rich jazz history, lightly topped with a healthy dose of humor.

Today, Spoken is challenged by drummer/percussionist/composer extraordinaire Friso van Wijck. With his fresh percussion playing and open-minded attitude, he always manages to complement the sound of the four saxophones.

December 8th SPOKEN + 2 won the finals of the Keep an Eye – The Records Competition in het Bimhuis.
