Op zoek naar de stem van Juul Anthonissen met Bart Maris...

Jazzliefhebbers herinneren zich de stem van jazzaficionado Juul Anthonissen op radio en tv (toenmalige BRT) tijdens Jazz Bilzen, de Middelheim jazzfestivals die hij mee programmeerde en in zijn eigen jazzclub, de Hnita-Hoeve in de jaren 80 waar hij steeds de inleidingen gaf (met o.a. grootse jazzlegendes Mingus, Hubbard, Baker ...). Zo werd Juul uiteindelijk muzikant.

Bart Maris, trompettist/improvisator, ging in de VRT-archieven op zoek naar Juuls zwoele stem en brouwt er een broeierige dialoog rond met zijn trompet en deze topmuzikanten: turntable-wizard Grazzhoppa smijt zijn oneliners en aankondigingen in de mix en Peter Vandenberghe (Flat Earth Society, Too Noisy Fish, ...) begeleidt hen.

Welkom op deze reis in de tijd die slingert van bop naar hiphop over verstilde momenten van klank en woord; het verhaal van Jazz in Heist-op-den-Berg en ver daarbuiten met Juul, met zijn eigen woorden, zijn eigen stem.

Jazz lovers remember the voice of jazz aficionado Juul Anthonissen on radio and TV (formerly BRT) during Jazz Bilzen, the Middelheim jazz festivals that he co-programmed and in his own jazz club, the Hnita-Hoeve in the 80's where he always gave the introductions (with including great jazz legends Mingus, Hubbard, Baker ...). That way Juul eventually became a musician.

Bart Maris, trumpeter / improviser, went in search of Juuls sultry voice in the VRT archives and brews a sultry dialogue with his trumpet and these top musicians: turntable wizard Grazzhoppa throws his oneliners and announcements in the mix and Peter Vandenberghe (Flat) Earth Society, Too Noisy Fish, ...) guides them.
