Dirk Serries is de experimentele duizendpoot die sinds 1984 eigenzinnig blijft experimenteren en het avontuur niet schuwt wordt dit jaar 50 met 30 jaar live muziek op zijn kerfstok, eerst onder de noemer vidnaObmana en later als Fear Falls Burning. Dirk kan worden aanzien als een pionier in het ambient-genre, iemand die in de door synthesizers gedomineerde ambientwereld de gitaar als hoofdinstrument ging gebruiken en die altijd zijn eigen koers is blijven varen. Na contact in Noorwegen met Tomas Järmyr en Kristoffer Lo is zijn muzikale interesse steeds meer gaan verschuiven richting vrije improvisatie. De perfectionist die zijn soundscapes met grote precisie in elkaar draaide, veranderde in een vrij denkende en spelende muzikant en dat opende nieuwe muzikale wegen.

Benedict Taylor is een leidende figuur binnen de hedendaagse compositie, moderne snaaruitvoering & geïmproviseerde muziek in de Britse en Europese muziekwereld. Centraal in zijn werk staat de nieuwe compositie voor live performance, film, theater, hedendaagse dans, kunstinstallatie & elektro-akoestische compositie. In de uitvoering werkt hij voornamelijk in improvisatie, nieuwe compositie en 20ste / 21ste eeuwse muziek. Hij studeerde altviool aan het Royal Northern College of Music met Roger Bigley, Thomas Riebl, Steve Berry (improvisatie) en Chris Rowland (kamermuziek).

Dirk Serries is the experimental millipede who has been stubbornly experimenting since 1984 and does not shy away from the adventure. This year 50 will be performing live music with his 30 years of live music, first under the name of vidnaObmana and later as Fear Falls Burning. In performance, he predominantly works within improvisation, new composition & 20th/21st century music.
He studied viola at the Royal Northern College of Music with Roger Bigley, Thomas Riebl, Steve Berry (improvisation) and Chris Rowland (chamber music).
